All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger (peace be upon him).
In our journey through life, illness—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—is an inevitable part of the human condition. Islam offers not only practical remedies but also spiritual solutions rooted in divine revelation. Among these, Ruqyah Shariah—Qur’anic healing—stands as one of the most effective ways to seek cure and protection.
This blog presents a comprehensive guide on how to perform Ruqyah using the Qur’an, particularly for issues like magic, jinn possession, evil eye, and spiritual imbalance.
The Qur'an as a Universal Cure
The Qur’an is a source of healing for all ailments—spiritual, psychological, and even physical. Allah says:
> “And We send down of the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe…”
(Surah Al-Isra, 17:82)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself would recite the last three chapters of the Qur’an (Surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas), blow into his hands, and wipe over his body when ill.
Self-Treatment and Family Ruqyah
Every Muslim is capable of performing Ruqyah on themselves and their families. One does not need a professional healer to seek spiritual healing. It simply requires sincere faith, Qur’anic recitation, and specific actions as taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
How to Use Qur’an for Healing
Step 1: Reading Qur’an on Water
Recite the following verses on a large container of clean water:
Surah Al-Fatiha (1)
Ayat Al-Kursi (2:255)
Surah Al-Ikhlas (112), Al-Falaq (113), An-Nas (114)
Verses against magic:
Surah Al-A’raf (7:117–122)
Surah Yunus (10:81–82)
Surah Taha (20:68–70)
🕋 How many times to read?
Recite each verse 11 times.
You may also read over oil, honey, incense, and body products for added benefit.
Step 2: Using the Water for Healing
Drink it daily like normal water.
Wash your body with 1.5 liters of the Qur’an water each night for 12 consecutive days.
Spray your home, car, or workplace with the water using a spray bottle. Cover walls, ceilings, and doors.
⚠️ It’s best to collect the used water and dispose of it respectfully in a clean place—not directly into the drain—to avoid harming any unseen beings (jinn).
Step 3: Qur’an-infused Oil and Other Substances
After washing, massage your body with oil over which the Qur’an was read. Recommended oils include:
Olive oil
Black seed oil
Shea butter or coconut oil
🎯 Focus massage on pain areas while reciting Surah Al-Fatiha 3, 7, or 11 times.
Step 4: Using Incense and Perfumes
Incense can be placed under a loose garment after bathing and massaging to expel jinn, particularly romantic jinn that may appear in dreams.
You can also read Qur’an on:
Perfumes
Eyeliner (kohl) – especially useful for eye-related afflictions
Honey, milk, spices, and even cooking oils
These everyday items then become tools of healing and can help heal those who may be resistant to active treatment.
Step 5: Using Senna for Magic in the Stomach
If symptoms include severe stomach issues—pain, bloating, ulcers—this may be due to consumed magic.
🌿 Remedy:
Boil a spoonful of Senna leaves in half a liter of Qur’an water and drink before food.
This purges the digestive system and often removes consumed magic.
Repeat daily until pain subsides.
Treatment Duration and Follow-Up
Continue the treatment for 12 days.
Observe changes in symptoms and adjust based on condition.
Larger quantities of water (up to 200 liters) can be read on in one session and stored for future use.
Important Notes
Treatment is most effective after sunset or before sleep.
Avoid extremes or misunderstanding—Ruqyah is a matter of ijtihad (scholarly reasoning), and various practices are permissible as long as they avoid shirk.
It is not a replacement for professional medical care when needed, but a powerful spiritual supplement.
Conclusion
Ruqyah Shariah is a beautiful form of healing that connects us with the words of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. It strengthens our faith, purifies our hearts, and protects us from harm. With sincerity, consistency, and reliance on Allah, healing is within reach.
May Allah grant complete healing to all those afflicted and protect our homes and hearts from all evil.
Ameen.
